With the current economic situation it is becoming even more difficult to pay for acupuncture treatments. Prospective patients would like to try acupuncture and current patients would like to continue receiving treatments. But the cost can sometimes be too high to afford.

Acupuncture has been a community- based medicine for most of its long history.  In Asian countries, acupuncture has traditionally been practiced in a group setting. However as acupuncture moved toward the mainstream it shifted and is now typically practiced in a private setting.

This shift has increased the cost of treatments. The average cost of a treatment can range between $75 to $125. As a result, sick people who would like to try acupuncture has been blocked access to it and patients that currently receive treatments has had to decrease the frequency of their visits.
